Bahrain welcomes a new batch of certified Solar PV Systems Installers

H.E. Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, awarded 46 successful contractors, consultants and the Electricity and Water Authority staff with the certificates on the successful completion of the Solar PV Systems Installation training course, which qualify them as certified solar PV systems installers. The certification required full attendance of the training course and passing of an exam.

The training course was organized by the Sustainable Energy Unit (SEU) in cooperation with the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) and with the support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Two international energy consulting companies, CESI and JLanka Technologies prepared and delivered the tailor-made comprehensive course, which combined substantial theoretical training with demonstrations and laboratory work.

In his speech on the occasion of awards ceremony, H.E. Minister Mirza congratulated the successful graduates and highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s achievements in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency. H.E. Minister Mirza confirmed Bahrain’s commitment to regional and international obligations to ensure the uptake of renewable energy sources in the energy mix and to encourage and promote practical steps towards energy efficiency. Bahrain works towards achieving sustainable energy goals, and the graduation of a new batch of solar PV installers is yet another proof of Bahrain’s commitment to achieving sustainability.

The next training course will be announced in due time on the SEU website, UNDP website and EWA website, as well as in local print media outlets.
